component framework for timetabling applications
Welcome on the CoFfTeA pages. On these pages you will find information about the CoFfTeA project. The CoFfTeA project is sponsored by the IWT. It is executed at the IT department of KaHo Sint Lieven in Gent.
The CoFfTeA (short for Component Framework for Timetabling Applications) project is about creating a component framework that helps the operator of a timetabling application.
On March 6th 2002 we organised an one-day seminar about Semantic Web and Applications. We also organised in August 2002 the 4th international conference on the Practice And Theory of Automated Timetabling.
One of the goals of the project is to develop a framework for timetabling applications. This framework should allow that components can be easily plugged in. The communication between the different separatly developed components happens through using Semantic Web technologies like XML, SOAP, DAML+OIL, etc. That is why we are interested in both timetabling and the Semantic Web.
We finally have a CoFfTeA logo!
For those who wonder how we created this website: we originally created this page in XML, this XML document was then converted with the help of an XSL-stylesheet and a CSS-file to HTML via the XSL-processor xt.exe. The resulting HTML file was then cleaned up with HTML Tidy.
